Dry, oily or somewhere in between — the right oil can balance skin instead of clogging it.

How to choose a facial oil for your skin type

Facial oils have a reputation for causing breakouts, but most problems come from using the wrong oil rather than using oil at all. Light oils such as jojoba and squalane sit close to the skin’s own sebum and absorb quickly.

For dry skin, look for richer oils like rosehip or marula and press two drops into damp skin at night. Oily or combination skin usually does well with jojoba or grapeseed, used in the evening only.

Patch-test any new oil on the inside of your wrist for two days first. If you are unsure, ask your therapist during your next facial — we are happy to recommend a blend.
